Kenka Banchou Otome has some pretty intensive backstory – so, there’s this action fighting game called Kenka Banchou, right? Well, that game got a dating sim spinoff called Kenka Banchou Otome, with a completely different art style and demographic. This anime adaptation is based on that!

The episodes are nice and short, easy to catch on little breaks you might have during the day, or easy to marathon a few in one sitting if you are all cozied up and enjoying an anime-watching day~

Despite all the martial arts going on, this isn’t terribly violent. It’s definitely more about the cute interactions between the boys and the cute heroine (who has adorable pink hair AND pink eyes!!! I’m just excited seeing those together..). I love the cute pink twin bro character that she switches with in order to get the plot initiated, he’s such a whiny goofball, which is so perfect for Tsubasa Yonaga’s voice lol.

Magic-Kyun! Renaissance is an otome series which follows the growth of the heroine as she masters her ability to create magic through art (her affinity is flower arranging).

The cast of handsome dudes each specialize in their own art, such as painting, singing, culinary design… there are seriously SO MANY, and I appreciate so much to see so many art media commemorated~ And in the fantasy rules of this magic school setting, art is what manifests magic in the world!

Tragic backstories abound in this series, although there’s plenty of fun scenes and cute friendship interaction between them, too~!  These are some of the most EXTRA dudes and it will amaze you how frequently opportunities come up for them to throw off their shirts.  There is a very cute and pretty heroine in this series, too!  She is a beginner in the industry, so the viewer gets to learn about the conflict-filled path to stardom alongside her~

The art style for this show is really nice; the boys’ eyes always look so beautiful and I love their colorful hair!  For some reason I really love when they are shown in profile??  The characters have, like, chunky lips and cute pointed-up noses in profile.  Is it weird to appreciate that??  I just do, okay?!
