Draw Me To Life

The character on the box art for the Nintendo DS game, Drawn to Life, but the draw of the game (hee! get it?) is that you create the hero yourself. It is a very cute, very sweet game. It is simple in nature but anyone who adores cute platformer games such as Kirby would love this as well.

I feel like Drawn to Life was THQ practicing for Scribblenauts. Even the sound effects used are similar. When people complained that Drawn to Life wasn’t that innovative (usually the claim was that anything you drew was just slapped over a template), I think that’s when THQ started trying to figure out a way to make their puzzles and level navigation more interactive, eventually leading up to Scribblenauts’ “Write anything, solve everything” format.

And there’s a whaleecopter. You want to ride in the whaleecopter, don’t you?

This is fan art for a very sweet and colorful computer game by those same folks who made Diner Dash. Holly is a fairy who needs to restore gardens around a mansion, and the flowers that she raises all have cute faces and spunky personalities!

~ You can download a demo of the game (or buy the full version) here ~

I had a lot of fun emulating the art style of that game, and all of the colors and little sparkly things were super fun, too!

The things I doodle quickly always turn out looking better than the ones that I spend hours on… Or maybe Arc just looks good no matter the circumstances.

This cute little anime called Petite Princess Yucie (or Puchi Puri Yuushi) had a particularly cute/romantic episode that made me want to draw this. So I did.

My interest was drawn to this series due to its relation to an old, old computer game that I like. c:

Hee hee! What a cute prince! He’s cute as a frog, too, so much that I’d almost be satisfied keeping him that way forever, but he looks so dreadfully unhappy in that state that I’d never let myself leave him like that. :c

I think that this marks the first time that I started drawing in this “style.” Round heads, beady eyes, scrawny elongated bodies, tiny feet and pointy fingers. Compare with February 2011’s Sheepboy. c:

Link as the Fierce Deity, as seen in the ending of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. I thought he’d look cuddlier in the same art style as Wind Waker, though!
