I love all these little critters and the crazy, colorful world they inhabit. This one is Kizatchi, the big bro of the Violet Family, one of the many possible outcomes from the Familitchi generation of the toys.

OMG Tamagotchi… This is mama Majorite, big sis Makiko, and li’l sis Belltchi out for a day of shopping.

I drew this was right when I was rediscovering how amazing and adorable those little things are. The art style… the unique/insane characters… the toys and games are amazingly addictive. And there is an anime, and a movie, and another anime, and a pretty impressive Flash portal to play in.

Can’t help myself. Love everything about Tamagotchi.

Yessir, I plushed my own art!! Frilly Bows is, I suppose, my “self-insert OC” in the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic universe. (I would link to my original drawing of her but I don’t like it very much so this sentence is a placeholder until I upload the drawing that I like better.)

Hand-sewn from felt. Eyelashes, iris, and those white shiny highlights are embroidered on.

This was way fun. I just threw it all together in only a few days. Sculpting hair out of felt into those curls and swoops is, like, the most therapeutic thing. You just take your sheet of felt and freestyle with the scissors and in the end you get some fantastifabulous hair.

And I just happened to have some brown grosgrain ribbon in just the right width to actually put some real bows in her hair without just making fake-bows out of felt shapes.

IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL. LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL.

Guest art for a friend’s comic book series, Pirate Penguin VS. Ninja Chicken. These are the stars of the comic, Ninja Chicken and Pirate Penguin, who experience many nonsensical misadventures together.

The characters and their designs belong to Ray Friesen, who is a silly person. If you enjoy laughing, which most folks do, check out his site and read his comics.

It was oodles of fun drawing these characters. Their designs are completely unlike anything I could ever come up with on my own, so it was cool to experience drawing something from another artist’s imagination. The color palette and unique shapes of the characters (diggin’ Ninja Chicken’s swirly-spiky ‘do) are elements that I’d never think of incorporating into my own work, so making this was different and fun. c:
