It’s been a little while since my last Steam game roundup!  Here is a selection of games I’ve discovered recently that are widely varied, but the connecting thread throughout is that they have cool or pretty art work!

As with all of my Steam recommendations, G2A is the preferred method for getting Steam keys on the cheap!  You don’t have to wait for the games to go on sale, just pick up a key from there for a couple bucks!

Littlewitch Romanesque: Editio Regia

That’s quite a title! oAo
Littlewitch Romanesque is a sim game reminiscent of Princess Maker!!
The art is sooo beautiful, and scenes play out in comic panels and speech bubbles
for a very artistic effect!

Audition Online

This is an MMO from the early oughts, so if you are/were a fan
of games like Mabinogi or Dream of Mirror Online,
then its visual style will look about comparable!
This is a rhythm game where you can customize a cute anime character
and compete (or cooperate) with others online!

Treeker: The Lost Glasses

This is a mysterious and meditative adventure/puzzle game.
I was drawn to it because I looooove the lowpoly environments –
awesome abstracted trees like those in the above screenshot
are my absolute weakness!

Journey of the Light

Another adventure puzzle game, this time with an overhead view
and beautiful painted natural environments!
The color scheme is cool and blue~

Cloudbuilt

This one is a high-paced action platformer!
The characters in the art work look so cyberpunk-y and cool!
There are some very imaginative environments for blasting through! *o*

A glamorous gyaru needs every aspect of her life to be equally fabulous, and that includes the simple clock, calendar, calculator, and ESPECIALLY camera apps on her phone!!  Opening up even simple apps like those should give you little bursts of happy, especially if you turn to them a lot!  Everyone deserves little happiness bursts. <3

DecoDentaku

A decorated calculator app with different face styles to choose from!
The previews show this pink jeweled hime decoden,
a pink sweets version, a vintage Classic Lolita print-like one,
and a jeweled blue undersea design (for you mermaids!).

DecoWatch

A very easy, minimal clock and alarm,
again with several border designs to choose from,
such as this rhinestone-covered sweets theme in neutral colors!

Deco Timer

Functions like DecoWatch, where it serves the purpose of a clock and alarm,
but this shows more information on the screen and has a wider selection of themes!
The previews show a traditional pink himedeco theme, a royal blue version,
and this kawaii pink bear + sweets border!

DecoCamera

Camera apps are p much mandatory!!!
There are lots of beauty cameras out there,
but only so many allow hime-styled deco,
with lace and rhinestones!

Princess Camera

Princess Camera is another camera option!!
I was drawn to this one for the beauty options listed on this preview –
options to add blush, lashes, and color lenses!!
And all of that in addition to all of the typical cute stamps and doodle pens~

There is such a wonderfully cute roundup of games coming out in the next handful of months before the holidays!  It’s so rare to get happy, colorful, cute games – and there are so, so many of them all happening together in such a short time!  I’m so excited seeing all of them!

Yoshi’s Woolly World

This was first shown at E3 some years back –
for some time it was only known as “Yarn Yoshi!”
But it’s finally coming out in the US on October 16 –
I’m so excited!  And I can’t wait to play co-op! ^o^
There are so many cute yarn Yoshi designs to unlock and play as, too!
OH!!  And there will be these adorable yarn Yoshi Amiibos!!

Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale

Ahhhh this looks so preciousssss!!
Story of Seasons is the current localization name for the Harvest Moon series,
so really, this has the same “Fantasy Harvest Moon” subtitle as Rune Factory!
This PopoloCrois adaptation of Story of Seasons looks like a combination
of Rune Factory and Fantasy Life – my favorite game from last year!
I’m really looking forward to it!

Yo-Kai Watch

Yo-Kai Watch is an INCREDIBLE sensation in Japan,
and this is the first installment of it reaching the US!
It will be coming over along with a cartoon on TV
and toys licensed by Hasbro.
I hope it becomes very successful, because it is a wonderful world
filled with kooky Yo-Kai critters that make for an awesomely fun
little monster-collecting, RPG-battling experience!
And the girl hero that you can play as is super cute! n_n

Moco Moco Friends

OK… LOOK AT HOW CUTE THIS IS… THIS IS INSANE!!!
Moco Moco Friends is a monster-collecting and RPG-battling game
much like Yo-Kai Watch, except your player character and all of her friends
are adorable magical witch girls, and their monsters are cuddly plushes!
Really, seriously, this is the Pokemon-like game
that I have been waiting for since the monster genre first emerged.
I can’t believe it took THIS long for a 100% cutesy version of the genre to happen.

Moco Moco Friends comes out November 17!

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer

After New Leaf was insanely successful,
this spinoff game centered on designing cute homes for your animal neighbors
will be out on September 25!
The options for customizing homes (and the yards outside of them)
are SO HUGELY enhanced – you have to watch videos or trailers
of this game to see it in action, it’s all sooo cuuuute!!

Today’s selection features a variety of genres, but all of them are colorful and cute!

Dumplings to the Moon

This game draws from Japanese folklore,
relating to bunnies on the moon and Princess Kaguya.
LOOK AT HOW CUTE THAT BUNNY IS!

Angel Dash Hero!

Okay, I love angels and angelic things,
and the cute critters in this game looked so weird and wonderful,
I had to check it out.  Angel Dash Hero! is a platform action game!
Collect Happy Points to restore the Earth!
I love every aspect of this.

What’s Up? Aliens!

Okay, this is just pure, unadulterated craziness and fun.
The aliens are SO cute, and there is a wide variety of them
that you will be capturing and collecting as you search
around the Earth for them.

Moon Flight

A very beautifully artsy game featuring an awesome anime protagonist babe.
It’s a jumper action game, but the cool art and actual inclusion of a story
about ruins and witches on the moon make it stand out.

Quiz RPG: The World of Mystic Wiz

The fantasy anime art for this is SOOO BEAUTIFUL!!
Interestingly, you collect cards and do battle by answering various trivia.
Can you face down your friends and enemies with random trivia fact?!?
It’s cool just collecting the awesome art work on all of the cards.

I have featured dating sims and RPGs a lot – let’s give super cute pet-raising sims a chance in the spotlight!  The selection here is various in terms of how much “raising simulation” you’re allowed.  Some are very ‘sit back and watch’-y and others are very much into the stat-raising to grow into different pets.  I figured I’d cover different types so that everyone could pick a type that they’d enjoy playing!

Nekoatsume

Although this game is in Japanese, it is simple and intuitive to play
so you can pick it up and play right away!
You decorate your room space with cat toys, then close the app.
When you return later, cute kitties will have shown up,
which you can take pictures of to fill up your albums!
It becomes a fun game of switching up what toys you have out
to see all of the different and rare cats,
and photographing each of them to remember their cute poses forever.

AfroCat

Because you can never, ever have too many cute kitty games.
In this one, the cat that you raise grows various different kinds of hairstyles
based on its level, what toys you have it play with, and how much wool
you’ve collected from a herd of sheep you also apparently own.
It’s adorable, don’t question it.

Personally, I love the soft pastel color palette AfroCat uses!

Koke-O

Another super kawaii game with a sweet, soft color palette~
In Koke-O, you raise a moss ball by choosing a food item to start with
(choosing no item is also an option) and watering it.
The pets grow quickly – within minutes –
so the fun comes from trying different combinations of starting items
and how much water you give it.
There is also a decoration mode where you take photos of your moss ball pet
along with different backgrounds and stickers – they would make
cute wallpaper backgrounds for your phone!

Fairy Doll

If this one looks familiar, it’s because I wrote an entire feature
for it because I so quickly became so enamored with it when I played!
This might be the most ‘stat-raise’-y of all of the games here,
where your objectives are to work toward different personality types
for your Fairy Doll and collect lots of cute outfits.
What’s most pleasing about it is
how much content is available for free players!

Mandrake Girls

Featuring a moe anime style like Fairy Doll,
this time the cutie pies you are raising are adorable plant girls!
If there’s anything I love as much as fairies, it’s flowers,
so the theme and setting of this game is SO EXCITING to see!
Now, if there were an anime bunny-raising sim out there,
I would be pretty much set for life.
