These Official Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Fashion & Accessories are TOO Awesome!

Tuesday, September 26th, 2017

ThinkGeek made this official fashion line available, featuring familiar motifs from Breath of the Wild!!  I think these are AWESOME!!  Some of them are kind of subtle, so you can wear them casually without it being suuuper obvious that you’re wearing something geeky (handy in some situations).  Of course, the overtly geeky stuff is awesome fun, too!

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sheikah Ladies’ Jacket

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Hylian Ladies’ Knitted Poncho Wrap

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Hylian Shield Ladies’ Knitted Poncho Wrap

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Divine Beasts Ladies’ Tee

These!!!  Are!!!  RAD!!!!!!  My fave of these four pieces is the blue shawl, which reminds me of Zelda’s blue, bell-sleeved dress~  The grey poncho is also really cool – its design is based on the Hylian Shield!

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Link Coat

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Link’s Arm Guard Sweater Hoodie

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Divine Beasts T-Shirt

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Link’s Tunic Sweater

Cool!!  The coat is another subtle one, but my favorite thing of these four is the light green cardigan sweater.  It reminds me a bit of Link’s starting out tunic, but the designs on it actually match the undershirt you see under the Champion’s tunic, and those Gerudo-motif arm designs are on there too!

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Mipha’s Beanie

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Backpack

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Revali Hooded Scarf

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Daruk Beanie Cap

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Urbosa Chiffon Scarf

!!! CHAMPION STUFF!!!  This is the first time I’ve ever seen official merchandise for the Four Champions.  Which is awesome, because NOW I CAN WEAR A SCARF LIKE URBOSA!!  Seriously, everything listed here is cool.  The Mipha beanie is so cute (and perf for fans of Sidon, too!), and the Revali hat with long scarf tails is so cool!!  I thought the Daruk thing was just a headband but it’s actually a beanie (the top is whitish grey).  When I realized that, it made me think of the black-headband-with-white-cap-on-top that the male Pokemon trainer from Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald wears, lol?!?

Patreon Monthly Summary – August 2017

Wednesday, August 30th, 2017

A fair amount was accomplished this month, amazingly even with the fact that I was away from home for a week and enjoying the BEEAAACH!! ☀️🏖️🕶️

It was a really, really good month for art!!

  • The movement functions for the player were polished up a bit with a glowy animated “walk target” that appears where the player clicks.  Once the heroine character steps on it, it disappears in a poof of light particles! ✨
  • Some very rough sketches were laid down for the actual, playable map.  View the whole thing + some insights into how collisions are placed on a hand-drawn map in the Map Re-Drawing Begun post!
  • I made some new brushes by hand in order to make drawing grass and flowers much easier!!  See them, in addition to some greenery being placed on the background, in Painting Some Sick Grass.  Bonus footage of cute poofy clouds from a chimney!
  • New Art for the Player Character was done!!  We have a heroine, folks!!
  • And finally, :O! A Friend!, shows an NPC character who will be present in the playable build.  We are reaching ever closer to its availability!

🌼 Onward into September!! 🌼

🐇 Thank you so much for taking the time to read my summary of what I’ve been up to over this month, and if you’d like to help in any form, consider the links below to either become a patron or just to donate once through Paypal any small amount~

Awesome Official Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Toys & Collectibles!!

Tuesday, August 8th, 2017

Recently when I was in Toys R Us, I was amazed to see so many Zelda toys there!!  It is certainly easier for collectors and young folks nowadays to collect things from their favorite games~

I just remember that when I was a kid, it was unlikely to see anything other than a select few action figures that were more like collector’s items. 😭

But anyway!!  Here is a whole feature for Breath of the Wild accessories you can get either from Toys R Us or Tokyo Otaku Mode to round out the post with neat merchandise and collectible stuff~

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Traveler’s Bow & Arrows

This was what I saw in Toys R Us that really amazed me!!
The awesome and accurate design of the bow and its detailed quiver
are exceptionally cool for something being sold as a toy for kids!!
And don’t pretend like you wouldn’t launch those suction-cup arrows around even as an adult. 😠

Nintendo Switch Premium Zelda Earbuds – Black

I’m not sure why the product specifies Nintendo Switch earbuds,
certainly they can plug into anything with a headphone jack~
The swirly black design with gold on top is exceptionally cool!!

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Backpack

This would be extremely cool for carrying outdoor gear or picnic stuff for
your real-life excursions and adventures! c:
Ofc, it also works just as well for school supplies.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Champion amiibo set

Here is a listing where you can preorder a full set of the recently-announced Champion amiibos!!
If you don’t want all of them, you only have to follow the link and select one instead~
Umm, I don’t know anybody that isn’t completely in love with Urbosa.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Link 10″ PVC Statue

Okay, just one super serious collector’s item made its way into my roundup today.
But it’s because this figure is SO exceptionally cool!!!
There are other pics listed on its page that show him off in some extremely cool lighting.

List of Myths of the World Games in Order (+ Downloads)!!

Wednesday, July 26th, 2017

It is time, my dudes, for yet another game list.

The Myths of the World series is one of the earliest point-and-click
puzzle adventure games I ever checked out!

The stories and settings of these are EXTREMELY cool,
each one inspired by a different culture’s magic, mysticism, and folklore.
A recurring theme in the series is some kind of additional
crafting or puzzle mechanic… I’m not really sure how to explain,
but the first one has an alchemy + magic system,
and each other game has something like that, too,
in addition to your usual adventuring and puzzle-solving.

Give these awesome and artful games a look,
and remember that if you’re interested in playing,
you can click on any of these to be brought to the download page!

Myths of the World: Chinese Healer

A great myth has enduring power… no matter where the story comes from. In this first game in the exciting new Myths of the World series, your story begins as a Chinese healer who’s brought to the Imperial City to save the Emperor’s son. But you uncover a devious plot and end up having to save yourself! Throughout the game, you’ll use your herbal kit to concoct powerful potions to summon spirits and heal the people you meet. There are also collectible cranes hidden everywhere, and achievements to earn as you play.

Myths of the World: Stolen Spring

The rich folklore continues with this exciting tale set in an old Slavic land. As Child of Spring, can you save the world from eternal winter?

A cruel and cold Goddess of Winter has hijacked springtime, and her victim has called on you for help. You’ll be surprised by what you, a lowly peasant, can do in the face of evil – and what cute little furry friends you’ll meet along the way in Myths of the World: Stolen Spring.

Myths of the World: Spirit Wolf

The wolf spirit still haunts… will you heed its call?

You’re an expert in Native American symbolism who’s been called to investigate some glowing glyphs. Your amulet, which has been in your family for generations, begins to glow as soon as you arrive, as if it’s part of this place…

As you begin to investigate, you encounter strange ghosts from the past. Find out what caused their rift all those generations ago and how you’re connected to this place and its spirit.

Myths of the World: Of Fiends and Fairies

The rat catcher’s after more than rats this time. He’s kidnapping fairy folk! Where did these pixies come from, and what do they have to do with your grandfather’s fairy tales?

Play both traditional and silhouette hidden-object puzzles in this dark fairy tale game. A unique new Q&A puzzle helps you discover your grandfather’s tie to the fairy realm.

Myths of the World: Black Rose

Vampire hunting is a full-time job, and your latest lead has brought you and your partner to Louisiana. Hop aboard a Mississippi River cruise, and get to work! You must investigate the riverboat passengers to expose a vampire who’s carrying an ancient artifact that could spell disaster in the wrong hands. Just be wary of who you trust… Even a seemingly normal person might be under the spell of the cunning vampire, luring you into a trap. Uncover the clues and unmask the true villain in this heart-pounding adventure!

Myths of the World: The Heart of Desolation

It was just supposed to be a routine mission. Fly in, drop supplies, and fly out. But when a dragon attacks your plane, crash-landing in a lush valley, you’re drawn into the adventure of a lifetime! This ancient valley is filled with living, breathing dragons – guardians of nature who protect the weak. But when one of their own becomes possessed by their ultimate foe, it’s up to you to restore order. Can you defeat the Dragon King’s mighty terracotta army, or will the world be destroyed once more, just like it was centuries ago?

Myths of the World: The Whispering Marsh

People have been vanishing in the Whispering Marsh, and the county has enlisted you to investigate. But this is no ordinary missing-persons case… The entire marsh is steeped in myth, with tales of mysterious twinkling lights that can mesmerize their victims and lure them to their doom. What are these lethal illuminations, and who –or what – is controlling them? You’ll have to act fast to find out before it’s lights out for you, too, in this chilling adventure!

Myths of the World: Born of Clay and Fire

A mysterious creature is wreaking havoc in your home city of Prague, and only you have the power to stop it! After your father is arrested, you find out just what he had been researching in his hidden alchemy lab – the Clayborne, powerful mythical monsters, born from clay and fire. Now it’s up to you to discover the true nature of the Clayborne and save the city from destruction in this epic puzzle adventure!

Myths of the World: Island of Forgotten Evil

Before his death, your uncle hid a mysterious artifact that only you could find. What starts as a search for the truth quickly turns into the adventure of a lifetime when a ghostly apparition tries to thwart your plans! Can you break the curse of the Legionary before it’s too late, or will you be its next victim? Find out in this riveting puzzle adventure!

Myths of the World: Bound by the Stone

The town of Beline is under attack! The only thing standing in the way of the town’s destruction is a yearly ritual, but a mysterious sorcerer is getting in their way! Can you uncover the sorcerer’s origins and save the town in time? Find out in this compelling adventure game!

Myths of the World: The Black Sun

Your hometown’s commander has gone missing, and you’ve been called in to investigate. Before you get far, a strange creature turns your father into stone! It’s a race against the clock as you track down the beast and try to save the town. Will you find the monster in time, or will you become its next victim? Find out in this spine-tingling adventure!

Patreon Monthly Update for July

Friday, July 21st, 2017

Heya!  Although it’s not quite the end of the month yet, I wanted to make this round-up post before July actually ended, because of the time-sensitive bonus that is only relevant before July 31st~

Here is what I have been up to in only the few weeks it has been since diving full-force into creating games!!:

  • The screenshot above shows my most recent update.  If you view the post itself, the screenshot is actually animated, and shows the scene in action!!  There are a whole bunch of colorful little animated icons that serve to show what emotions the character is speaking in a cute and interactive way~
  • In just yesterday’s post, I had most of the icons drawn but not animated yet!
  • From Sketch to Screenshot – This post details how rough and messy my work-in-progress sketches are, where I rough out how I want the UI to look and even scribble incredibly silly placeholder characters LOL.  It’s available to view side-by-side with the finished version of the same screen, just to see the difference!
  • Playing with Particles: Glowy Lights & Fireflies – Fireflies always look so magical in games!  This post, which also has an animated demonstration, shows off how I create pretty, soft, and glowing lights for background detail.
  • Dialog Boxes & Typewriter Text – Another animated demonstration, this time showing the dynamic message boxes and text that appears within them.  It’s a minor effect, but one that is massively engaging for the player!  There is also a sneak peek at some actual code in this post.
  • Animating Game Characters – This post, which includes an animated demonstration AND a look at the code behind it, shows how I get my art work to move around and look alive in a game.
  • Drawing a Game Character – Finally, this post, which is visible for everyone so that they may get a glimpse at what kind of content is available in the rest of the feed, provides an example of how my art work grows from placeholder characters to full-color designs for the final form of the project. 🌟

There are actually a couple of other progress update posts that I didn’t even list just now – you’ll have to check the activity feed over on Patreon to see the rest!

If you’re interested in watching these projects come to life, as well as playing demonstrations as soon as playable builds are available, you’ll need to become a Patron!  Please consider doing so – it is a small investment that is non-figuratively life-changing for me, allowing me to pursue this and create cute and positive games as I have always dreamed of doing.

AND!!!  If I reach my first goal of $150 before July ends, I’ll be able to put those earnings toward upgrading my Game Maker license to allow finished games to be available for Mac and Ubuntu users as well as PC, in addition to being able to make browser-based games that do not require downloading at all and would be available to play freely~!

💟 Thank you so much for taking the time to read my summary of what I’ve been up to over this month, and if you’d like to help in any form, consider the links below to either become a patron or just to donate once through Paypal any small amount~
