The Cutest Colorful Yarn & Crochet Kits

Thursday, May 3rd, 2012

Learning to knit or crochet can be an integral part of creating your own cute accessories! Crochet has become extremely popular in Fairy-kei especially, as Peter Pan collars in nursery shades of yarn is basically a staple in most coordinates now. Knitted or crocheted purses or brooches are also commonly seen.

Stuff4 is an online store with SO MANY CATEGORIES for all kinds of arts and crafts!! If you couldn’t tell by the little introduction up there, we’re focusing on the knitting supplies today, especially variegated yarn in sweet pastel colors. ♥

Bernat Lavender Lullaby Softee Baby Ombre Yarn

Sooo sweeet!!

These colors remind me of a storybook garden!! n3n

Bernat Tickle Me Pink Pipsqueak Yarn

A chunky, fluffy yarn that looks extremely soft. ♥

Is there anyone that doesn’t love that perfect, rose-petal princess shade of pink?

Bernat Garden Baby Baby Coordinates Yarn Ombre

Ahhhh look at those darling colors. ; 3;

There’s a cute squiggly texture to this one, too!

Bernat Lavender Waverly Yarn

Lavenderrrr… ♥♥♥

What a perfect dreamy shade. And Waverly yarn is so thick and soft. *o*

Beginners Crochet Kit

…And if you haven’t any idea what to DO with all this cute yarn I’ve posted here, this kit will certainly get you started!! There are crochet hooks included in common sizes and even plastic yarn needles.

Happy crocheting!! :3

Fun Funky Mod Jewelry

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012

Why bother wearing jewelry if you don’t make it fun??

These highlights from ModCloth are the sort that will score comments even just day-to-day! o3o

Lip-stick Around Earrings

Cuuuuuute!!

Ahhhh! You simply must wear these while sporting the same classic red color on your lips. n3n

When I Sip Necklace

Would you care for a spot of tea?

I love a hot cup of tea every morning, and pay homage to my favorite relaxing beverage in any way I can! I just adooooore this sweet little necklace.

Candy Dot Earrings

What do I love even more than tea?
SWEETS!!

Any jewelry that resembles candy is an automatic winner in my book.

And it’s even better when they come in such adorable pastel colors to boot!

Neon and On Rings

These are adorable chunky accessories that could either add a splash of brilliant color to an otherwise neutral outfit, or put the finishing touch on a full technicolor display.

I don’t often wear rings, but IF I DID, they would be cute plastic ones like these.

Who’s that Ladybug Collar

It’s hard to tell from the small size of the image over there, but there are cute little ladybugs mixed in among those polka dots!

Peter Pan collars are a popular accessory in fairy-kei fashion, so when I saw these listed on ModCloth I just had to share!!

Today’s Outfit: My Little Blue and Purple Pony

Monday, September 5th, 2011

September 5, 2011

Probably dooming myself by posting this so late in the day. XD; I went and did all my chores for the day before stopping to take pictures, and then spent a lot of time fixing up the photos and generally took my sweet time in uploading them and finally writing all of this.

I’ll try to be better about Today’s Outfit posts in the future! oAo

So here’s what I wore today, my favorite t-shirt and pants coordinated together to the color theme of blue and purple.

This is my favorite graphic tee that I own. ; 3;~ I nabbed it off Delias‘ online store when it was on super clearance. It was like $6!

The purple corduroy pants are also from Delias (and were also on clearance).

The white text at the bottom says “Best friends forever” … for some reason, idk.

Necklace:  Claire’s

This elastic purple headband I have looks like a frilly headdress! ^o^ Accent it with a blue bow and you are super coordinated. I like putting barrettes over my headbands because it actually helps to hold the headband in place!

Headband: Generic brand from the pharmacy lol.
Barrette: Circo (in the dollar deal bins at Target XD)

My makeup is super faded there (remember; took these pictures at the end of the day XD), so I put together this little thing to demonstrate the colors I used and where:

White (it had glitter in it!) under the brow and at the inner corner of the eye, purple in the crease and wrapping around the outer corner to underneath the eye, and blue on the lid. This particular palette of colors is from Claire’s.

This is my “safe” eyeshadow layout that I use pretty much every day, except with different colors. Highlight under the brow, contrast in the crease, main color on the lid.

On my wrists are these accessories:

Star bracelet: random party favor 8D;
My Melody Watch: McDonald’s, decorated with a bow and rosebud myself.
Rainbow Dash bracelet: Party City, rofl party favor jewelry everywhere.
Blue scallop bangle & purple bangle: Dollar Treeeeeee >3< I have a lot of accessories in a lot of colors. 8D Specifically so I can mix and match them in different combinations like this. You can see more of them in the background of this pic:

…which is the colors I would have painted my nails today if I weren’t so very, very lazy. They are, as you can tell, from Claire’s.

So there’s my first real Today’s Outfit post.  I hope to do more of these (an interesting goal to set for myself considering I don’t have much of a wardrobe??), and I’ll also look into joining the sites Polyvore and Lookbook.  Yeah.  I should… join those.

And that’s the end of my post.

Rakuten Shopping Guide

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

May 24, 2011

Lots of the shopping coverage on my site will be related to Rakuten in some way, so let’s get familiarized with it now. c:

To put it in the simplest of terms, Rakuten is a huge conglomeration of Japanese stores. It’s easy to comparatively say that Rakuten is like Japan’s Amazon. Many, but not all, of Rakuten’s stores ship internationally.

First, let’s get Rakuten’s site in English.

Wow, look at that! You were expecting everything to be in Japanese, weren’t you?

Now, to make sure that the stuff you search for can be shipped to your country, click on the corresponding flag!

This part is important!! For example, if you live in the United States, you definitely and for sure want to be browsing here, because anything you search for from that page is sure to ship to the United States – it’s automatically filtered for you!

I cannot stress enough how convenient this is. It is a huge bummer when you’ve selected all of your items and are about to check out, only to find that they can’t ship to your area. Click your flag from the main page, bookmark it, and never have to worry about it again.

Just like with Amazon, it is possible to place orders through Rakuten without an account with them, but it will be made a lot easier for you if you do. So let’s walk through how to sign up.

Everything is in English and automatically set to “For people living outside of Japan.”

Fill out all of the information as it asks – it’s basically your regular sign-up stuff.

!Note!: Sometimes, even though all of this information is asked for at signup, I still get a prompt when actually checking out. This prompt looks different and can be confusing, so I’ll post it here:

And that’s it for signing up!

Let’s move on to searching and browsing and shoppinnnnggg!!

Like I said before, you want to start with your country’s correct page, so let’s go back here and choose your corresponding country. I bookmark mine so I don’t have to repeat this step!

Type something into the search bar and that’s it! You can narrow it down by choosing categories such as Women’s Apparel or Shoes.

When I see something especially cute, I like to follow the link to the shop’s name to go to everything that shop carries! I bookmark so many of these shops it is not even funny.

When your shopping cart contains items from different shops, your order will be ‘split up’ between those shops and you’ll have to view all of your shopping carts separately.

It’s a good idea to keep your shopping sprees limited to just one or two shops, because shipping is calculated separately for each order! There is no way that I’ve ever found to combine all of your items into one big order.

Here’s my shopping cart for Dream Vision, one of my most favoritest Rakuten shops. <3

There’s not much of a difference between Checkout and Quick Checkout. Both lead to a sign-in page, and if you’ve already input your address and billing information at signup, you shouldn’t have to input any additional things for either of them. I usually choose Quick Checkout just… because… I have to choose one and Quick Checkout makes me feel better as a person, okay?! ;~;

You should always sign in before purchasing because you gradually rack up points! Every 50 points puts 1 yen in your account, and eventually it adds up and can get you some sweet little discounts!

Before clicking the final Place Your Order, you can scroll down to the bottom of the page to see what your shipping rate is going to be!

Okay, that’s the end of my guide for now! I’ll add more to this if I think of something!
