The Master of Killing Time is about a student named Yokoi and the very strange boy who sits beside her in school that constantly busies himself with increasingly elaborate distractions.

It’s cute and simple, and comes in chunks of small episodes (just under 10 mins each), so it is a bit relaxing and refreshing to enjoy them!

Pretty Cure is a long-standing magical girl series!! There have been TONS of different seasons of this, each featuring a team of different Cures, but THIS is the first. Fans refer to this first season by its Japanese title, “Futari wa Pretty Cure” to differentiate it from Pretty Cure as a franchise.

What’s really cool about Pretty Cure is how action-y and martial arts-centered the combat is!! There is a combination of sparkly friendship-based magical beams with very cool kicks and punches! These girls are STRONG!!

It feels very retro to watch this season now (it’s from the mid-00’s), with fuzzy yellow subtitles and everything, which is appealing if you happen to be a retro lover. 😀

This is a REALLY CUTE AND SWEET magical girl series!! It’s pretty retro, with loads of bodacious 90’s outfits you’ll get to see on the characters in their casual clothes, and tons of classic anime tropes (like her step-sister’s GREAT ojousama laugh).

The storyline is SOOOOO sweet – you will get so invested in Himeno and her triumphs as a magical girl, while she struggles at home with her new, rich family. Being surrounded by the handsome dudes who offer her their powers, the Leafe Knights, offers some happy salvation (…when it isn’t adding more drama).

A cool detail unique to this magical girl is that her costume and powers are different depending on which knight she connects with!! They are all REALLY cool!!
