How to Sew a Pretty Lolita Dress with a Front or Back Bustle DIY Tutorial (Video)

Saturday, July 4th, 2015

Happy Christmas in July!  Even if the season for this is totally wrong, I really wanted to share this video detailing how to add a pretty, frilly, layered front (or back) bustle to your dresses!

Holiday DIY- Sew a Front-to-Back Bustle Style Lolita Christmas Dress
Front to Back Christmas Lolita Dress. This dress can be wore backwards too ^^

If I had to add anything, my advice would be to fold your edges under TWICE if you try this out yourself, rather than just once as shown sometimes in the videos, and backstitch at the beginning and end of sewing every line as well. n_n

You will need 1 and half yards of fabrics for making the first part of the dress.
The method(no elastic and zipper method) of first part is same to other dresses, but the measurements are different.

Dress measurements:
Outer circle: 22.5″ inner circle: 4.5″
Top length: 35″ width: 7″
Shoulder strap: length 18″, width: 3″

Bustle measurements:
The base: length 18″ width: 10″
Ruffle width: 4″ (7 lines of ruffle)
Bustle ruffle: width: 4″

Bow measurements: Ribbon length: big bow 12″ small bow: 10″
The width of both bow: 1.5″

Pretty Printed Tops from Pink Doll/Dabuwawa

Wednesday, July 1st, 2015

Sometimes, I just enjoy wearing pretty art work on my tops and t-shirts!  From the endlessly elegant brand Pink Doll (which I believe is also called Dabuwawa for its Taobao shop), I put together this list of pretty tops that all depict lovely lady prints.

Ruffled Printed Beaded Anime Princess Top

The sweet gauzy ruffle along the bottom and flower applique accents
in the pretty anime girl’s hair really make this an elegant top!
The girl is illustrated so soft, I want to see more of her
pretty curly hair and poofy princess dress!

Lace-Sleeve Appliqué Printed Anime Girl Top

The colors of this one are more earthy,
and the pretty anime girl is framed by an applique floral frame.
This would look lovely with mori girl coordinates.

Frilled Purple Anime Girl Print Top

The girl on this one is so pretty and smiling,
with her hair in a beautiful flowered braid!
My favorite details on this top are the purple ruffle around the color,
and soft starry gradient to purple at the bottom of the shirt

Frilled Pink Doll Printed Alice in Wonderland Top

This top with cute ruffled sleeves depicts the Pink Doll brand
as well as a super sweet Alice girl illustration~
